Legislative Advocacy Committee

The Legislative Advocacy Committee (LAC) is responsible for representing UCR undergraduate students in local, state and federal government relations and affairs to ensure that all students have access to an affordable, accessible and quality education. Legislative advocacy committee members participate in student advocacy through methods of public comment, lobbying, connecting with our representatives and more. Joining this committee will grant its members the privilege to travel to the general Riverside/IE area, our state capitol Sacramento, and Washington D.C. on behalf of ASUCR Office of External Affairs or through UC Student Association Conferences. We are committed to empowering and uplifting the voices of marginalized students and communities.

Highlander Action Committee

The Highlander Action Committee (HAC) strives to promote campus-wide activism through a wide variety of forums. We hope that through engagement with our student body, this committee will be able to advocate for many of the issues on campus that are important to students! HAC utilizes social media, connection building, and mobilization tactics to uplift communities’ voices and the work of the ASUCR External Office!

Civic Engagement Committee

The Civic Engagement Committee works to increase voter registration and turnout in the student body as well as promotes education and understanding of local, state, and national elections. As a member of the Civic Engagement Committee, you will work with us to organize events and initiatives to try and educate and motivate voters to utilize their civic rights.
