BCOE Senators
Sarah Zohary, bcoesenator1asucr@ucr.edu
Hello Highlanders! My name is Sarah Zohary and I will have the honor of serving as one of your BCOE Senators this academic year. A little bit about me, I am majoring in Environmental Engineering and previously, I served as an ASUCR Senate Intern. I am involved on and off campus through the UC LEADS cohort and research at CE-CERT. During my free time, I enjoy doing ceramics and skating.
As the BCOE Senator, I represent UCR’s engineering community. My primary initiatives include pushing for more sustainability efforts and opportunities on campus and expanding industry opportunities for students. My goals are to pass legislation aiding sustainable campus groups, expand outreach for Town Halls, and organize Industry Exposiums to connect students with industry opportunities. Lastly, my target is to create a mentorship program to connect BCOE alumni to current students.
Please feel free to contact my email or attend my office hours regarding any questions or support you may need
Bruce Riazi, bcoesenator2asucr@ucr.edu
As a third year UCR student, double-majoring in computer science and neuroscience I am very excited for the opportunity to be one of the two BCOE Senators for this year. An opportunity like this must be maximized, hence, I am going to maximize my position to engage and increase the student spirit of the school, and to maximize the student experience here for everyone. I truly believe that a more active and involved student body will enhance the experience of every single one of us by a lot. I plan to help communities, clubs and different organizations that promote student and academic life, with events that continue to encourage student involvement.
A fun fact about me is that I have been electrocuted before. Another interesting fact about me is that I love soccer, and I believe that in the future I am going to pursue becoming a firefighter. And I also want to eventually be able to start my own sauce business, I am a very big enjoyer of sauces. I truly believe they are a very important part of food and the culinary world.
